Feedback Round
At Tribe Dance Studios, we’re committed to getting you the result you need. Because of this, we offer one “feedback round” with every mixing and/or mastering session (except for the single stem mastering). This means we are able to make a once very monocratic process (“here’s the master for your track”), democratic. You can get your notes in and steer the result into the right direction. Together we will come to the best possible result.

Pricelist

Single Stem Mastering (€35)
The most traditional and clear cut way of mastering – where an engineer can correct things like overall volume, low-end oomph and sheen, but is more limited in the corrections he can apply. We will deliver a 16 bit WAV file at a commercially acceptable LUFS level. So you can put it up on your Soundcloud, or pass it on to a label and not look like a schmuck.

If you want to attend the mixing and mastering session live (via Zoom), we charge an additional €15 as well.

  • More professional, polished sound
  • Commercial level loudness
  • Quick result, done within 24 hours
  • Possibility to attend live!

Stem Mixing & Mastering (€50)
With this service you break down your song in stems, meaning you divide your song up into tracks like: “Drums”, “Bass”, “Synths”, “FX”, “Vocals”, “Foley” etc. This allows for more flexibility within the mix and a more high quality end result. You’ll get one feedback round, where you can get your notes in. After that, we’ll prepare the final mix down for you.

We will deliver a 16 bit WAV master at a commercially acceptable LUFS level, as well as a 24 bit WAV pre-master, so you or a label interested in your song can always opt to get it mastered by another party later on.
Please note that there is a limit of 7 stems in this package. Here is some advice on divvying up the stems, to get to the most balanced result out the stem mixing and mastering package.

If you want us to send the mixed and mastered stems or the project back to you, we ask for a €15 surcharge. If you want to attend the mixing and mastering session live (via Zoom), we charge an additional €15 as well.

Meet the mixing engineer
As with anything, practice makes perfect and mixing records is no different. With over 10+ years of music production and several under his belt, Mike McFly has a lot of experience mixing house records, creating sample libraries and helping aspiring house artists fine tune their sound.

Let’s get to know his process a little bit, shall we?

What’s the secret to getting a good mix? “Build up from the foundation, this means, getting the low-end right before we move on to anything else. And then we build on from there. Once you establish baseline levels and frequency occupation for the kick and the bass, the rest becomes easier to ‘fill in’ if you will.”

Why should I not just use Landr or SoundCloud’s built-in mastering services? “You can of course, but, these services have to satisfy a whole range of genres and a your track is unique. How the dynamics of a mix should be handled and treated, will always be handled better by the human ear in my honest opinion. Also, ask yourself this: why are big artists and record companies not systematically working with these services?”

Why should I work with Tribe Dance Mixing and Mastering? “We care dearly about getting the sound right, this is why we implemented the feedback round as a way to fine tune the result, and make it more of a democratic process. I think it shows how much we want to get the sound right for you. If that is not enough, the fact we’ve mixed records for the biggest labels in the industry and have a proven track record, should cement the fact that your baby is in good hands with us.”
