Co-Production

Ready to kill it in 2021? Well we are too! And we want to help you achieve your goals, so when you need a more hands-on approach to make sure you hit your goals, we are here to get it done!

Need a bit of help to finish your back log of sketches? We have got you covered! With Tribe Dance’s Co-Production program you’ll have somebody co-piloting your productions, so you can start finishing those unheard bangers! We’ll be making sure the quality of your tracks matches the standard you hear on the labels you love, here’s how.

So how does this work?
It depends on the situation, we offer tailor made solutions to a wide range of producers, who tend to struggle with different things. But typically, we would figure out where can be of help and where should be a bit more hands-off depending on our introductory Zoom-call and the first month of us working together.

We’ll discuss where we could be of use and where we should stand off a bit more. A quick analysis of your productions and a quick insight into your production process and your frustrations within the process, should tell us a lot about where we can chip in the most, so you get the most bang for your buck.

We like results. And as such, we like to work with setting goals, and then hitting them. Doesn’t We’ll come up with a set of realistic goals, and methods for how we can work towards

So when would you want to get involved with Tribe Dance’s Co-pilot program? Well when you recognize yourself in any one of these situations.

  • I can’t seem to get a good loop going
  • I struggle with my arrangements
  • I add so much stuff, that my track gets convoluted
  • I can’t translate my creative decisions into mixing decisions
  • I struggle to give my tracks that “professional end polish”

We invite you to have a chat with us, to figure out if this could be the right solution for you. No strings attached!

Co-production, not ghost-production
You shape the world, we get involved to the point where you need us, and then we are hands off. We will never try to lampoon your project, as we know and understand the production process is a very personal process, and should be handled as such. Therefore, we prefer to stay at your side, re-steer the ship where needed, and chip in where we can help.

Here are some things we currently help our clients with:

  • Making the drums “smack”
  • Letting the synths “pop”
  • Low-end management (getting the kick and bass to sit right)
  • Setting up a production process that makes sense
  • Getting away from “cliche” sounds
  • Practical sound-design and treatment
  • Creating engaging arrangements label A&R’s respond to
  • Controlling the flow of a track, so it doesn’t get stale
  • Mixing the end-result (after the creative part is done)
  • Mastering your demo (so it competes with the big boys)

We’re sure we’re leaving a few things out here, but this is the bulk of the expertise we bring to the table!

Q: Is there anything else you should know?
Well, we work in Ableton Live, but this doesn’t mean you are out of luck if you work with Logic Pro X, Studio One, FL Studio, Reason 10 or Bitwig. Good old, audio stems are actually the safest way of transferring your project, and it also forces us to make decisions.

We have a hesitancy with working with “shared folder” services like Google Drive, Dropbox or Splice, because we have found these solutions to be less than perfect in the past. Audio stems however, never fail.

Q: What does this cost?
When you want us to co-pilot your project, you pay a monthly fee. This fee depends on whether you want us to not be credited as writers or not, when a record gets signed. Since every producer and every situation calls for different things, we can’t give you a set price. The price depends, on the workload, the level of involvement and the goals you set out to accomplish.

In short, it depends on how many hours we have to put in to get you the result you are looking for. That being said, we do believe we charge a very fair hourly rate. So let’s have a talk, reach out to us: info[at]tribedance.net
